This Privacy Policy describes how ServerVisor LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use ServerVisor. By using the service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you register
  • Billing information: payment method details, which are processed and stored by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number
  • Monitor configuration: URLs, domains, IP addresses, and other endpoints you add to your account
  • Alert settings: email addresses, phone numbers, or webhook URLs you configure for notifications
  • Support communications: messages you send us via the contact form or support tickets

Information we collect automatically

  • Monitoring results: response times, status codes, SSL certificate details, and other data returned by your monitored endpoints
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and actions taken within the dashboard
  • Log data: IP address, browser type, and request timestamps — collected in server access logs
  • Cookies: session cookies required for authentication, and preference cookies for dashboard settings

Node Insights data

If you use Node Insights, you run reporting scripts on your servers that transmit performance metrics — such as CPU usage, memory usage, disk I/O, and network throughput — to us. We do not access the contents of files or databases on your servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the monitoring service
  • To send alerts and notifications you have configured
  • To process payments and manage your subscription
  • To respond to support requests and contact form submissions
  • To improve the service and diagnose technical issues
  • To send transactional emails (receipts, plan change confirmations, expiry warnings)
  • To communicate material changes to the service or these policies

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your monitoring data or server metrics for advertising purposes.

3. Information We Share

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: we use Stripe for payment processing, Amazon Web Services for hosting and email delivery (SES), and may use other infrastructure providers. These providers process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
  • Business transfers: if we are acquired or merge with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We do not share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Specific retention periods:

  • Uptime check history and response times: retained for the number of days included in your plan (30–365 days depending on tier)
  • Heartbeat ping history: retained for 90 days
  • Incident and alert history: retained for 12 months
  • Node Insights server metrics: retained for 30 days on the standard tier
  • Account information: retained until you delete your account, plus a 30-day recovery window
  • Billing records: retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance purposes
  • Server access logs: retained for 90 days

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from your account settings or by contacting us. We will complete deletion within 30 days, subject to our legal retention obligations.

5. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive credentials, and access controls that limit who on our team can access your data.

No system is perfect

No security measure is completely foolproof. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law.

6. Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: a session cookie that keeps you logged in during your session (required — cannot be opted out of)
  • Preferences: cookies that remember your dashboard settings such as theme and display preferences (functional)

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, but authentication will not work without them.

7. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: request that we delete your account and personal information
  • Portability: request your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection: object to certain uses of your information

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@servervisor.io. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Marketing communications

We may send you product updates and announcements. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email. Transactional emails (receipts, alerts, security notices) cannot be opted out of while your account is active.

8. International Data Transfers

ServerVisor is operated in the United States. If you access the service from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and potentially other countries where our service providers operate. By using the service, you consent to these transfers.

9. Children

ServerVisor is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice in the dashboard. The updated policy will be effective from the date shown at the top of this page.
